Welcome to the PEIMF - the voice of the downstream petroleum industry.

What the PEIMF does for its members

The PEIMF was formed in 1993 to actively represent its' members at the highest level in the downstream petroleum industry in the UK.

At that time companies and individuals were at the mercy of authoritarian and bureaucratic organisations that rode roughshod across the industry, with new and swingeing mandates that affected our businesses, without regard for the consequences.

A few pioneers set about to stop this practice, and the PEIMF was formed.

Since then, the PEIMF has been involved in actively getting its representatives on those authority's committees and now sits on all the major bodies that affect its' members.

Steadily, over the last ten years, our ability to influence the decision making process has become very apparent with some noteable successes. The PEIMF has representatives on the following committees:

  • UKPIA/PRNSG committee that governs the SPA Safety Passport
  • Energy Institute (EI formerly the Petroleum Institute) -
Service Station Panel and the Oil & Water Liaison Group
  • EI/Environment Agency Oil Care Campaign
  • APEA/EI Technical Co-ordinating Committee - Blue Book
